In Memory of Ace
After a long 18-year residency here at Miracles In Motion, we are sad to share that our beloved yellow cat, Ace, has passed away.
Ace was found on the highway in front of our property by Stefani Vikora-Zobala when he was just three months old. Over the years, Ace became a constant companion to our staff, volunteers, riders, and visitors. While he tolerated the herd, his true feline companion was Todd, another yellow cat. You could often see the two of them out in the pastures together, balancing on top of the fence lines so they could be at eye level with everyone and enjoy a better view of the property. As Ace aged, he loved nothing more than lying in the sun. On cold or wet days, he was my constant office mate—spending his time curled up on a warm fuzzy saddle pad in an office chair or sitting on my desk to "help" me with daily tasks. In his final weeks, Ace slowed down. Though he kept his rounds to a smaller area, he still wanted to check on the property or bask in the sun, making his unique yellow markings shine. He continued his routines until he simply could not anymore.
I will deeply miss my office mate, but I take comfort in knowing Ace lived his life on his own terms and let me know when it was time. It is said that no one ever really dies who is remembered with love—and Ace was truly loved.
